Although most smokers say they want to quit, the majority of those who attempt to quit smoking on their own go back to the habit within just a few weeks. As a consulting hypnotherapist, I have helped many people quit smoking over the past 12 years. Now am offering my successful quit smoking program online.

Did you know that people who successfully quit smoking have often tried several times in the past? So if you have tried to quit many times before, stop thinking of those attempts as failures and think of them as trial runs instead. A small percentage (3-7%) of smokers permanently stop each year. That doesn't sound much but it adds up to well over a million people. You can be one of them!

Can I use nicotine replacement products  on this program?

Yes, if you like. Research shows that a combination of nicotine replacement, social support, and therapy to help you modify your behaviors works well for many people. But you will still have to quit nicotine at some point! Nicotine replacement products are designed to help you quit smoking in stages by separating the smoking habit from nicotine withdrawal.

Note: If you have tried to quit before and felt down or depressed, talk to your doctor before quitting again.

Can hypnosis really help me quit smoking?

Yes! This program contains 10 self-hypnosis recordings to provide you with ongoing support before, during, and after you quit. Hypnotic suggestions can help you manage the stress associated with quitting smoking. Hypnosis helps you tame your cravings, sleep better, and retrain your brain so you respond differently to the triggers in your environment that used to prompt you to smoke. Hypnosis can also help you create better habits like drinking more water, exercising, and eating healthy food.

You may have heard about celebrities who have used hypnosis for smoking cessation: Aaron Eckhart, Ewan McGregor, Charlize Theron, Ben Affleck, Matt Damon, Courtney Cox, David Arquette, Drew Barrymore, Ellen Degeneres, Katie Cassidy, Paul Rudd, Rashida Jones, Lynn Collins, Debra Messing, and Kate Moss. But hypnosis is not something expensive or out of reach to regular people - in fact, the commitment to use self-hypnosis at home is what leads to and reinforces long-term success.

How long is the program?

That depends on you! The program has an introduction followed by 6 lessons, and is self-paced. That means that you need to work through all 6 lessons! You can't just jump to your quit date without doing the prep. Each lesson involves thinking, writing, and listening to guided imagery (self-hypnosis) recordings. And once you quit it doesn't stop there. The recordings are designed to be used on an ongoing basis for reinforcement and support as you adjust to life as a non-smoker.

Here are some guidelines for how long each lesson might take you to complete, but remember that each person is different! I recommend that you space the lessons out over several days.

  • Introduction: 1 hour

  • Lesson One: 1-2 hours

  • Lesson Two: 1 hour

  • Lesson Three: 1 hour

  • Lesson Four: 1-3 hours

  • Lesson Five (Quit Day): 1-2 hours

  • Lesson Six: 30 minutes

There are also ongoing daily self-hypnosis exercises, to support you after you quit. The following items are helpful in completing the program:

Headphones or earbuds                          Index cards                                 A journal

Sale Price during COVID-19 Crisis

Normally this program costs $189 but during the covid19 lockdown the price is reduced to only $49. Approximately what it costs for a weeks' supply of cigarettes if you smoke a pack a day. My usual smoking cessation program costs $500 for 5 hours in my office. This online self-paced version contains all the same materials and recordings. And if you would also like personal support from me once you purchase this program, you have the option of scheduling an online appointment with me for $50, half the usual $100 hourly rate.

What my clients say...

"I have effectively kicked my smoking habit! I do not crave or think about them really at all ... even when they are kind of "in my face." I feel truly free of them. And I really attribute this to you and our sessions, especially our first one, when you made me think about why I wanted to quit, and how they fit in my life, and how serious I was about quitting. I am a believer!" ~KV, Durham, NC

"The program worked really well and I have been off smoking ever since! 10 months and counting..." ~ST, Durham, NC

"It has been 2 years, three weeks since I had a cigarette. So, I wanted you to know that I have had no tobacco products in that time and it is basically not part of my thinking when I feel stress. I am much more regular at the gym now and I know I am in better shape than I have been in a number of years. I still listen to your recordings some. Thank you!"  ~KK, Carrboro, NC

"Claire helped me to crush a bad habit through the power of hypnosis. She also opened my eyes to the things that I didn't know I was thinking. She has a great gift of intuition and empathy. I'm grateful for the help she gave me, but now I also have a place that I can truly trust with my mind. You can trust Positive Spiral Hypnosis." ~AH, Chapel Hill, NC
